WHAT CAN YOU DO?"Never
doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change
the world, indeed it is the only thing that ever has." ~ Margaret Mead In order for us to demand an end to human trafficking & slavery, we need you to bring more people to support this cause. We would love it if we could generate the broad support driving organizations like Breast Cancer Awareness or MADD. Help us make slavery history again!
Here are tangible ways you can help (do 1 or more below):
1) Educate your family & friends about the facts on human trafficking & slavery in our world today and urge them to action. Organize an event in your home.
2) Donate money to some of these great organizations that: *SAS will begin taking donations shortly to launch our nonprofit organization and do more
3) Support legislation that are geared towards achieving our goals for a slave-free Washington and country. More details on this soon...
4) Connect SAS to your nearby community center, school, faith-based organization, community association, business group, women's group, men's group, etc. for a 'Human Trafficking Awareness' event. See our various Community Relations Directors for details regarding the events SAS can bring to your organizations.
5) Volunteer in one of the following positions at SAS:
- Community Organizer: Bring community leaders together in your area for a Town Hall Meeting. They need to get the facts, form a community plan, work together for a more slave-free neighborhood, and organize events designed to educate the rest of the community about human trafficking and slavery.
- Event Promoter: Organize an awareness and/or fundraiser event in your neighborhood, community, employer, church, synagogue, parish, mosque, etc. (see Event Ideas below)
- Freedom Promoter: Assist SAS with being responsible for putting up various posters and flyers in your neighborhood coffee shops, supermarkets, community centers, dry cleaners, etc. of awareness and/or fundraising events.
- Intern: Gain valuable experience as an abolition volunteer/community activist working to achieve a slave-free Seattle and world one city at a time.
6) Volunteer with one of our Partner Organizations and check out their websites for internship or volunteer opportunities.
